The intern will work on developing and validating software associated with supporting Software Defined Networking (SDN) on Xilinx FPGAs at high data rates. This software will include low-level interface support, communication protocol handling, and mapping of high-level SDN API requests and responses to networking processing systems implemented on FPGAs. This software may run on either soft (MicroBlaze) or hard (ARM) processors within an FPGA, or on external processors chips connected to an FPGA. The intern will contribute to the production of demonstrations of the SDN capabilities, documentation, and patenting and publication of the research work as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
The intern will have a strong masters degree in the general area of computer engineering or electrical engineering, and be following a doctoral program focusing on topics of relevance to this project. The intern will have strong software skills and experience. Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, and the design flow for Xilinx FPGAs, is highly desirable. Knowledge of recent trends in Software Defined Networking is highly desirable.
